HOME SCHOOLING WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
- Will your home school program work for my dyslexic child?
Home school students with dyslexia are invited to use our program. Students are allowed to work at their own pace, which can be a true godsend for those who need extra time to compute visual and/or verbal information. Also, our "text-to-speech" software can be very valuable for students who need to hear words sounded out as they read. We suggest enrolling in our program and then demonstrating it to your health care professionals so they can provide their recommendations based on their specific expertise.- Do you accept home school students with special education needs?
Home schoolers with special needs are invited to use our service, although we do not offer specific programs for students with special needs. Remember that although we offer a number of similar services as registered schools do, we are not a "school" but rather a complete resource for homeschoolers. Our any-pace structure works well for many students with learning differences or special needs. Please consult your health care professional for input and advice.- How do home school students with ADD/ADHD perform at The K-12 Free Homeschool?
- Our online environment and multimedia-rich home school courses help students who need extra stimulation. We do not offer special programs for students with ADD/ADHD, but our any-pace learning environment allows home school students to spend as much time as necessary with plenty of breaks when needed. Learning in a tranquil environment of the home can also be helpful to home school students. Students who have been diagnosed with special needs such as ADD/ADHD should work with your health care professional for input and advice.
